Starlink recommends that users pick the Automatic setting. It is also the default setting.


Another choice is that the antenna does pre-heating. Using the pre-heat mode heats the dish surface before snow or ice fall.

It will increase the dish temperature by increasing power consumption.

The pre-heat option would be ideal for users anticipating heavy snowstorms.

Remember to configure the settings to “Automatic” mode after the storm.


With the “Off” option, the antenna never heats up to melt snow or ice.
